Thailand Guides - Trang![]() The charming land, lying humbly on the coastal line of the Indian Ocean, is considered as the hidden treasure of natural paradise in Thailand. OverviewTrang has a magnificent long and beautiful coastline stretching 199 kilometers along the Indian Ocean from the west to the south and a total area of 4,941 square kilometers. The 47 islands in the north are under the responsibility of the Jao Mai National Park office and the islands in the south belong to the Petra Island National Park. The delicate, white sandy beaches, blue clear water, attractive caves and the range of corals both in the shallow and deep water, are heaven for all tourists. Despite the fact that Trang City plays a key role in facilitating trade and communications to Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand's southern commercial hub, Trang is a province less traveled to by tourists. It was only recently that Trang has opened up to tourism and established itself on the international travel map. AttractionsHat Jao Mai National Park is 50 kilometres from town encompassing various islands and beaches supporting sea otters, monitor lizards, pangolins and resident birds including sea eagles and egrets. Among the magnificent beaches and islands in the park are Pakmeng Beach, Hat Yao (Long Beach), Koh Mook, Koh Kradan, the most beautiful coral island in Trang, Koh Wan and Koh Chuek. Pakmeng Beach is regarded as center of the trips in the Trang Sea. At high season, tour boats set off the first trip early in the morning. From its beachfront road, ones can admire the beautiful scenery with a view of the Trang Sea in the shade of pine trees. The beach has border with Chang Lang Beach, which is another beautiful beach. Other tourist attractions include the Mu Koh Petra National Park with beaches and islands lapped by the warm waters of the Andaman Sea. There are also wildlife sanctuaries such as Namtok Khao Chong and Khlong Lamchan Park with waterfalls, hot spring pool, and nature trails. Also, there are mangrove forests and illuminating limestone caves interconnected via water passageways in Huay Yot. The remote Roi Chan Phan Wang is unique for its numerous mini-falls that feed pools in a shady picnic park amid limestone rock formations. Page: 1 2
