Thailand Guides - Phetchabun![]() BN Farm is a private farm that grows high-elevated crops and flowers. Situated on the hillside, the farm is open for public and has a shop that sells various agricultural produce. Si Thep is an ancient town that flourished between the 7th and 14th century. Some 100 kilometres from Petchabun city,Si Thep Historical Park has more than hundreds of architectural remnants that reflect the influence of Hinduism in this region. Hindu god statues are discovered in many temple ruins. In town, Wat Trai Phum is a principle temple that houses an aged-old Buddha image highly respected by locals. The Phetchabun City Pillar, which is brought from Sithep town, is the oldest city pillar in Thailand. Events and activitiesPetchabun has more tourists during the cool season when young trekkers brave the near-zero temperature to walk to the top of the mountain in Nam Nao National Park. In September every year, the locals will carry Phra Buddha Maha Thammaracha (a principle Buddha image enshrined in Wat Trai Phum) in the procession to the river where the statue was found. The statue is then carried by the city governor into the river to replicate the scene when the statue was discovered. Event though the ceremony is witnessed by locals, visitors are welcome.
