The beautiful little province of Nakhon Nayok lies at the southern tip of Khao Yai National Park. The fast–flowing rivers and beautiful scenery in the area make it an excellent location for a soft adventure weekend.

Overview

With its lush greenery and fast-flowing rivers it is hard to believe that Nakhon Nayok is only just over an hours drive from Bangkok. The beautiful and scenic area has become an increasingly popular weekend getaway for nature lovers. During the rainy season the region is a favourite spot for canoeists and rafting enthusiasts. Nahkon Nayok is also famous for its orchards of durian, rambutan and pomelo.

Attractions

Nakhon Nayok has become known for a number of impressive waterfalls which attract scores of visitors during the rainy season. One of the most famous is Nam Tok Sarika, a waterfall consisting of nine levels which when in full flow during the rainy season are a beautiful sight.

Nam Tok Nang Rong is also a multilevel waterfall east of the provincial capital. Large boulders abound and there is also a large pool suitable for taking a swim.

Wang Takhrai is a resort and botanical garden run by the Chumphot-Phanthip Foundation. The attractively landscaped gardens have a stream were visitors can enjoy a swim. Bungalows are available and there is also a camp site.
