Krabi Area Bird Watching Tour![]() Day 1 (Lunch, Dinner)
After meeting at Khao Luk, we will proceed to Pakarung Beach, some 25 kilometers north of Khao Luk. Here the long sandy beach and remnant corals support birds such as Chinese Egret, Crab Plover, Oyster Catcher, Terek Sandpiper, Grey-tailed Tattler, Ruddy Turnstone, Great Crested Tern, Lesser Crested Tern, Saunders' Tern, and White-winged Tern. Bird watching all day before the transfer to Krabi town. Overnight in Krabi town. Day 2 (Breakfast (boxed), Lunch, Dinner)
Early morning explore the mangrove forest of Khanab Nam by long tail boat. Many birds can be spotted throughout the day in this area. Species include Mangrove Pitta, White-bellied Woodpecker, Common Redshank, Brown-winged Kingfisher, Ruddy Kingfisher, Pacific Swallow, Red-rumped Swallow, Flyeater, Mangrove Whistler, etc. Lunch at a restaurant in the town, before an afternoon of birding on a bar at the mouth of a river. Overnight in Krabi town. Day 3 – 4 (Breakfast, Lunch (boxed), Dinner)Very early morning, transfer to Khao Noi Chuchi national park, some 67 km from Karbi (approximately 40 minute drive). Birding all day on trails through the park and then return to Krabi after twilight. The park has a number of trails, each of which tend to reveal certain species. On trail E we have seen Gurney's Pitta twice and many trogons. Trail B: Banded Pitta, Hooded Pitta, Black-and-Red Broadbill, Dusky Broadbill, and Green Broadbill. Other birds seen on the edges of the park include Black and Yellow Broadbill, Bushy-crested Hornbill, Blue-winged Pitta, Yellow-vented Bulbul and Puff-throated Babbler. Near a local canal, other possible sightings include White-chested Babbler, and Rufous-collared Kingfisher.
Afternoon of day 3 we move to Pant Din Samung by 4x4 vehicle, where we can see Wreathed Hornbill, White-headed Munia (paddy field areas), Whiskered Treeswift, and Tiger Shrike. Evening birding around Morakot Pond, where you can see Thick-billed Spider-hunter, Asian Paradise-flycatcher, Oriental Dwarf kingfisher, Grey–bellied Bulbul, Red-eyed Bulbul, Cream-vented Bulbul, and Stripe-throated Bulbul. Relax and take a swim here after a full day of birding. Overnight in Krabi city. Day 5 (Breakfast, Lunch)Depart Krabi early morning for a half day of bird watching at Panam Benja National Park (approximately 30 minutes drive from Krabi). Departure after lunch and return to Krabi.
